This book is marketed as mindfulness from a Christian perspective. I was very disappointed to find that it is mindfulness from a very general spiritual perspective - in contrast to the author's earlier book, this one includes and endorses various spiritual influences. And in many places it seems absolutely incompatible with Christian faith - I found the weekly meditation sections on God, prophets etc to be the hardest!!! And for an author advocating a calm and non-judging attitude, there is quite a bit of harsh judging of some Christian groups. As I don't have much experience of mindfulness techniques, I can't really comment on those, except to say that, as a very sick person in a great deal of pain, I find the body scan technique in the first week to be very unhelpful.
