What is God like? What does he do? Christians can answer these questions by referring to Jesus cHrist, God's supreme self-revelation. God can be known because he makes himself known - as a Father whose love is holy, as one who is merciful and just, eternal and wise. God creates and sustains; he vanquishes evil; his plan cannot fail. The first in a series of books on the great Christian doctrines, in which the spirit of enquiry is wedded to that of devotion.
