How to choose the right Bible for you...

First time choosing a Bible? You could find yourself a little overwhelmed, what with so many translations, language styles, colours, bindings, font sizes and more. So the team here at Aslan Christian Books have categorised the Bibles we provide by translation first and then, when you're on that page, you can filter your search in a number of ways such as Bible use, binding etc.

Choosing the right translation...

There are a lot of Bible translations all translated from the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic into English. Some, such as the ESV, NKJV, KJV and NASV, are what's calledWord for Wordtranslations attempting to stay as close to the original text as is possible. Translations such as the NIV, CSB and NLT are what are calledThought for Thoughtwhere the translators have translated so as to best convey the heart and meaning behind the original text. Lastly there are what are called paraphrased bibles, such as The Message, CEV or Good News, where the text has been paraphrased into modern English whilst also removing phrases and terms that can be confusing for new Christians or younger readers. Click on the graphic below choosing the translation that you feel best meets your reading style and need.
