A 30-day devotional for teens on self-control, one of the nine fruit of the Spirit. Sometimes it’s hard to say no. Learning to say no to the wrong things, opens us up to say yes to the right things. We see this truth clearly in Scripture: God’s commands are always for our good and for His glory—even the ones that are tough for us to follow. It’s impossible to obey God’s commands completely (that’s why He sent Jesus), but learning self-control is possible. Through the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit, God empowers us to live courageously, with a spirit of “power, love, and sound judgment” (2 Tim. 1:7). Over the next 30 days, we’ll study what Scripture says about why self-control is important, what role it plays in revealing our identity, how Satan tempts us, what to do when we feel tempted, and how to live godly, self-controlled lives.
