A seasonal journey through seven centuries of music pairing medieval melodies with modern settings by  Poulenc,  Leighton, and  Mathias. The recording highlights the way ancient texts have inspired composers from the era of plainchant to the present day, bridging the gap with Renaissance works by Bach, Praetorius and Sweelinck.
