Hebrews

Description

Matthias Bible Guides are what you turn to before the commentaries: in-depth enough to serve as a guide for pastors preparing to preach through books of the Bible, accessible enough for the enthusiastic lay reader or Bible study leader.

In this volume, Karl Deenick unpacks the New Testament book of Hebrews.

“Hebrews has a vital message for us to hear. It speaks to those who have heard the gospel message and warns them that it is possible to hear the gospel but not really take it to heart. It warns us about what Dietrich Bonhoeffer called ‘cheap grace’— the idea that a person can claim to know Christ but not actually live a Christian life of turning away from sin and trusting in Jesus.”
