In just fifteen years, Robert Roberts made an indelible mark on Wales. At the age of twenty-five, with little education or influence, and constantly in pain with a spinal deformity, he began preaching. Being a naturally gifted speaker, he was further empowered by the Holy Spirit and was quickly recognized as a powerful preacher. Invitations came from across the country and beyond, making Roberts a household name and beloved at the great preaching gatherings. Yet the constant demands with deteriorating health took its toll. Worn out, he entered his grave at a mere forty years old! The march of time has dimmed the appreciation of such men, the glorious age of revivals and powerful preaching. Our age has different priorities and we are much the losers. Oh, how we need to at least recapture some of that wonder, and with a sense of loss cry out to God for such men to be given to us once more.
