From the convention rostrum at the 1890 Southern Baptist Convention you will hear an eloquent, dapper, mustachioed Virginia gentleman propose a radical publishing venture, articulating the need while offering no real provision or plan for organizing or funding it. This same man, J. M. Frost, would shortly take the first leadership role in the organization that is now known as LifeWay, a respected leader and innovator in the spread of the gospel throughout this nation and the world.
