Opportunity Leadership

Description

Opportunity Leadership is the art of achieving your mission by capturing change instead of creating it. What’s this—a leader who doesn’t plan? Isn’t it up to the Christian leader to charge into the future with a strategic plan in one hand and a Bible in the other—pious faith and perfect foresight all rolled up in one dynamic package? What leader doesn’t want to be a change-maker like that? We obviously know what God intends to do in the next ten years, right? So let’s get after it . . . University president Roger Parrott wants to turn your leadership paradigm on its head. Instead of being driven by the hubris of thinking we can forecast and manage the future, the opportunity leader recognizes that God brings opportunities our way and He only expects us to respond effectively when they come. This book will free leaders from the confinement of traditional planning and teach them how to stop projecting distant destinations that aren’t ours to determine, much less control. Instead, leaders will learn to build a faith, philosophy, and team that are sensitive to the Lord’s leading in the moment. Leaders must move quickly to capture opportunities whenever God’s wind blows, trusting Him for both the open doors and the results. Yes, it’s scary. We all want to rely on human plans to take us into the future. But with an Opportunity Leadership mindset, your faith will not only be stretched, you’ll also see results beyond your wildest dreams. Why? Because you’re in tune with what God actually wants. And He can do immeasurably more than anything you could have imagined.
