Description

Malcolm Archer demonstrates the versatile organ of Wells Cathedral (rebuilt twice by Harrison & Harrison incorporating the 1857 instrument of Henry Willis and earlier pipework by Samuel Green.

The programme includes Romantic and 20th-century works by French composers Vierne and Saint-Saëns , German chorale settings by Reger and Karg-Elert, and Malcolm Archer’s own compositions. Collectively, these pieces showcase the organ’s effectiveness in both concert and liturgical settings.
