Focusing on the theme 'Joy to the World', this edition of Words of Life aims to encourage and inspire is to lighten and brighten our walk with Jesus, and to discover new joy in our relationship with him.

The book begins by considering Paul's letter to the church in Philippi, which is sometimes known as his 'letter of joy', and reflects upon some of the issues that Paul addresses in his correspondence.

Guest writers Majors Corinne and Steven Cameron, officers in Canada, have chosen particular passages of Scripture to explore how God brings joy to our hearts, while the Advent series has been prepared by Major Janine Lewis, an English officer serving at international Headquarters, who guides us through the preparation for and the birth of Jesus from the perspective of joy and delight.
